I did this a few times with my old Mirc friends. its hard to get people from all around the world together but even small groups are tons of fun.

I've been "independent" for a year and a half now.

What has helped me tremendously is to look at the work I do, and time I put in, in a compartmentalized fashion. I split projects into tasks, and tasks into hours, and divide income by that.

If I can outsource my work, I do. At first, I thought *I* had to be the one doing whatever kind of work. That it was too precise, personal, specific, etc.

Once I got over that, and really began looking at my work differently, it became much easier to see what I could outsource and what I really did need to do for myself.

I don't know you, nor have I followed your blog (got the link from corvida on Twitter), but know that it gets better. The problems you see now, will soon be solved by solutions you haven't yet found...so long as you look for solutions and don't simply dwell on the problems.

Grass isn't always greener is what I'd say to this. I'm at a 9-5 (well, 10-7) job now, and have seriously thought about becoming a Problogger...but, now I that it isn't all pork and beans...but, that being said, keep your chin up maybe you're experiencing a blogger's form of writer's block?

Thanks for sharing your insight. As someone who has always written, and only recently seriously considered the prospect of blogging full time, I am grateful for your perspective. Also, as someone who has to sit through the 9-5 monotony and tries to find time when he can to handle his blog posts, I can understand where you're coming from.

Awesome post. You're dealing with the same thoughts anybody doing this has. I do this full time and my wife is a stay-at-home mom. Yeah, it is tough - both of us being in the home, but I am the only sitting at the computer all day.

In some ways, having a 9-5 is easier, yes. But at the end of the day, you're in charge, you don't have to kiss ass to ask for a raise, and you can say what you want and get paid for it. :)

I hate the DRM ,it puts restrictions on the music that you bought from the internet. Especially with the iTunes and Zune market songs that annoys me the most.
After searching on google and other tech sites, I found this to help me remove the DRM..

It can remove the DRM from protected music (mp3, wma, wav, etc) and extract audios from video (wmv, asf, etc).

So, now I can play the DRM protected music with any devices, and keep the music forever and ever.
